These terms apply when you request a quote from, or hire, BuildBetterEstimates for construction estimating, quantity takeoff or bid support services. By approving a quote you agree to them.
1. Quotes and plan review
Plan review and quoting are free. After reviewing your drawings we send a fixed price, the scope of work and a delivery date. Work starts only after you approve the quote in writing (email or WhatsApp is fine).
2. Scope of work
Each estimate covers only the trades, drawings, specifications and addenda listed in the approved quote. Work outside that scope, such as extra trades or a redesigned plan set, is quoted separately before we start it.
3. Payment
The price, payment method and payment schedule are stated in your quote. Deliverables may be released once the agreed payment has been received.
4. Delivery
We agree a delivery date with you before work begins and plan it ahead of your bid date. If late drawings, missing information or new addenda affect that date, we will tell you as soon as possible and agree a new one.
5. Revisions and addenda
If addenda or revised drawings are issued for the same scope, we update the affected quantities and pricing. Changes that add new scope or substantially redesign the project are quoted separately.
6. Your information and drawings
You confirm you have the right to share the documents you send us. We use them only to prepare your estimate, keep them confidential and sign a non-disclosure agreement on request. See our privacy policy.
7. Nature of our estimates
Our estimates are professional opinions of probable quantities and cost, based on the documents you provide and current market pricing at the time of preparation. Actual costs depend on subcontractor and supplier pricing, site conditions, market changes and decisions outside our control. You remain responsible for reviewing the estimate, making final bid and pricing decisions, and checking quantities against your own requirements before relying on them.
8. Ownership and use
Once paid for, the estimate and deliverables are yours to use for your project and bids. We may keep copies for our records. We will not publish your project or name you as a client without your permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the fee you paid for that estimate. We are not liable for lost profits, lost bids or indirect losses.

11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you approve a quote applies to that project.
